From CHRISTOPHER: Of course, I LOVED doing this show. LUCY and I got along great; and she thought I was wonderful. She dragged everybody in to see me dance. She and VIVIAN would watch me rehearse, and get the biggest kick out of it. She even called her friend, MARY WICKES in,
to watch the rehearsals.
From CHRISTOPHER: Coming from stage, I caused LUCY no problems. The show was shot live, in front of an audience, so she wanted you to act as though we were doing a play. Made sense to me; but not to everyone who was used to doing filmed TV. Then, I could see a bit of the BALL temperament. But this lady sure knew what she was doing. And, what everyone else was doing, too.
From CHRISTOPHER: I got to work with my old pal, HAL KING, the famous make-up artist. He was with LUCY forever.
When the show was over, LUCY told me, "We'll be having you back." But it never happened. However, when I was Chairman of the Board of Directors for The Professional Dancer's Society, she always sent a big check, and came to the Awards and did whatever I asked her to do. "You're the boss HERE, honey."

That's SANDY BARON, on the far left. What a delightful young actor to work with. In this, I also got to work with a pal; the wonderful KATHLEEN FREEMAN. Our mutual friend, BETTY GARRETT had introduced us some years ago; and I'd loved the lady ever since I saw her in "Singin' in the Rain." Needless to say, I was thrilled to be working with her.
And, this Episode was Directed by the young JERRY PARIS. You would recognize him from "The Dick Van Dyke Show." He was a brilliant Director. But then, most actors that become directors, are!
